Random discoveries of randomness to make up for my disappearence

I'm so sorry!

Between work, school, birthdays, friends, family vacations, family injuries, family in general, other various events and happenings, I have not kept up with my promise to keep up this blog. People who were referred her by my Twitter are probably the most annoyed, especially since I tweet about being a writer, yet have no writings of any kind.

Well, my random and only slightly awkward summer has led me to learn a few things - especially in the past week, when things have been REALLY busy. So, to make up for my silence, I decided to post a few things I've learned during the first half of Summer 2011. They're in no particular order aka - pretty random, and I hope to make some time for this blog, and writing as a whole soon. Hopefully. (Let's not hold our breath.)

  1. Love makes you fat.
  2. Stupid people will always be stupid.
  3. Happiness is easy to find, hard to maintain.
  4. Laughter is the second best medicine. Vicodin is probably the first.
  5. Being a nerd or geek is always in fashion. Even when it's out of fashion.
  6. Over-imagination is really under appreciated right now.
  7. Marilyn Monroe is awesome.
  8. Libraries are also awesome. People need to remember that, partly so I can still get a job in one.
  9. Borders WAS awesome. RIP.
  10. iPod touch is the greatest product since air conditioning.
  11. I could never live in a decade that doesn't have air conditioning.
  12. Little Richard's music is much cooler than Kids Sing-a-Long-Songs portrayed it when I was younger.
  13. Daniel Radcliffe seems like someone I could hang out with.
  14. Putting Looney Tunes back on the air was the best thing Cartoon Network has done in a very long time.
  15. Facials (with the cucumber on the eyes and face mask) feel weird.
  16. Little Big Planet is my game of choice.
  17. Playing hide & go seek with my dog is so much fun.
  18. Sometimes the world sucks.
  19. Sometimes it's pretty amazing too.
So there you have it. My random list of random discoveries.

First there was the Stone Age....

and so on and so on.

For some reason, humanity likes to define itself by ages. We have the Stone Age, the Bronze Age, the Iron Age, the Copper Age, the Gilded Age, the Age of Enlightenment, the Golden Age of Hollywood, the Silver Age of Comic Books, the Dark Ages of many things, the Middle Ages, Age of Discovery, the Dork Ages....

I think you get the point.

Well, after months of trying to find my voice on a blog - should it be about writing, entertainment, music, society? - I figured, why not just write whatever comes to mind. Why not define this new age for what it is? Complete and utterly random, but all the more interesting because of it.

So here's to news, entertainment, and fun. And (hopefully) a good run.
